Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What is Hydroxy Client?
Hydroxy is a third-party software client created for the Java Edition of Minecraft. It is specifically designed to enhance the Player-vs-Player (PvP) combat experience. Our client includes a variety of performance optimizations and modifications ("mods") aimed at improving frames-per-second (FPS), providing useful on-screen information (HUDs), and offering tools that allow players to practice and refine their combat skills in a competitive environment.
Is the Client free to use?
Yes, the Hydroxy Client is completely free to download and use. The project is supported by the advertisements displayed on this website. This ad-supported model allows our development team to cover server costs and dedicate time to maintaining, updating, and improving the client without charging our users for access.
What versions of Minecraft are supported?
The current version of the Hydroxy Client is optimized for Minecraft 1.8.9, which remains a very popular version for competitive PvP servers. Support for other versions may be considered in the future based on community feedback. Please check the 'Specifications' on the product download card for the most up-to-date information.
Usage and Safety
Will I get banned for using Hydroxy?
This is a critical question for any competitive player. The Hydroxy Client is a third-party modification, and the use of such clients may be against the Terms of Service of Mojang or specific Minecraft servers. While we design our client's features to be discreet and focus on legitimate enhancements, **you always assume a risk** when using any modified client on any server. Some servers have stricter anti-cheat systems than others. We are not responsible for any bans or penalties placed on your account. We strongly recommend you always check a server's rules regarding client modifications before joining.
Is the software safe to download? Is it a virus?
Absolutely. We guarantee that the files downloaded directly from our official website (levdev.cc) are free of malware, viruses, trojans, or any other malicious code. We take our users' security very seriously. Because our client interacts with another program (Minecraft), some antivirus software may occasionally flag it as a false positive. We recommend never downloading the client from any unofficial source, as we cannot ensure its safety or integrity.
Authentication and Access
How does the access code system work?
Our client uses a secure, session-based authentication system to ensure fair use and prevent unauthorized distribution. To use the client, you must first visit our website and generate a fresh, unique access code. This code is used only once to grant you a temporary session to use the client (the default session length is 60 minutes). This online-only system means an active internet connection is required to authenticate.
Why does my session expire? What do I do?
Sessions are temporary by design to ensure security and that the service is being used as intended. If your session expires while in-game, your client features will be disabled. To continue playing, simply return to our website to generate a new access code. The process is quick and allows you to get back into the game with minimal downtime.
Troubleshooting
My modules are toggling in the GUI, but not working in-game. What's wrong?
This is the most common issue and usually has a simple fix. First, ensure you have successfully authenticated and that the client's status message reads "Attached! All modules are now running." Second, and most importantly, **Minecraft must be the active window on your computer** for the keybinds to register. If you click on the client's console window, Windows will send keyboard inputs there instead of to the game. Click back into your Minecraft window to ensure your key presses are sent to the game.
Where is the best place to get help or report a bug?
The best place to get help, report bugs, or suggest new features is our official Discord server. We have a dedicated support channel and an active community of users and staff who can assist you with any issues you may encounter.
